Food is the first thing I think of in the morning while sipping on that glorious first cuppa, it is also the last thing I think of at night before turning into a snoring corpse. Yesterday, when I was asked to review the third outlet of Shawarma Point at Netaji Subash Place, I forgot about other routine work and could only think of the Lebanese grabs and doner kebabs I was going to taste soon.
Lebanese cuisine, which traces its foundation from Egyptian, Palestinian and Syrian cuisine amongst others, boasts of a wide range of healthy and tasty dishes, prepared with whole grains, veggies, herbs, spices and red meat.
Owned by Star Innovation Ltd, Shawarma Point has already marked its presence at GIP Mall, Noida and Moments Mall, Kirtinagar. The latest addition to the growing franchise is at Netaji Subash Place. “There are some more franchises in the pipeline such as SPAR Mall, Kamla Nagar, CP, GK1, Gurgaon etc,” says Chairman and MD, Mr Kumar of Star Innovations & Services.
AMBIANCE
Considering Netaji Subash Place is packed with people and shops, Shawarma Point has managed to create a decent-sized joint for its patrons. There’s a proper seating space with a view of its very clean and tidy kitchen.
MUST TRY
In the middle of all basic Italian, north Indian and Chinese eateries, this Lebanese joint offers interesting cuisines along with modification option, which is the USP of the joint. The food is quality controlled (ISO 22000) and emphasizes on the marination and freshness of the ingredients. Also the self-made breads bring a significant sweetness to the dishes, making them all the more luscious. The different combinations of sauces also bring out the best flavor of most dishes.
Fattoush – A salad dressed up with fresh veggies, toasted Pita, a dash of herbs and pomegranate dressing – is a most aromatic and refreshing entrée. For main course, try their Baked Chicken Marinade rolled in Saj Bread. Get a wholesome bite in your mouth and you realize the restaurant completely justifies its trademark Chicken Shawarma dish, making it stand out from the rest.
For vegetarians, Falafel with Tahini based sauce and Biryaniis a must try.
If you are a paprika lover, try the Chicken Wings dipped in hot chilli sauce.
SOMETHING MISSING
A delicious starter-cum-main course meal later, Shawarma Point sets your expectation high. But only a single Dessert and Mocktail option seems to be a disappointment. Most of the dishes seem to be worth their price, you may find some of them overpriced though.
