Amazo Bistro is a newly opened standalone restaurant in Bodakdev.
DÉCOR
Amazo is a casual and relaxing restaurant with both outdoor and indoor sitting. At the entrance is the patio deck with tables and chairs, and a mocktails bar at the end.
Inside, the bistro-style restaurant has tables set around multi-tiered display stands, cabinets and book shelves. Glass windows and light-coloured walls ensure that the restaurant is well-lit all day.
FOOD
Amazo Bistro has a small but varied menu covering cuisine like Italian, Mexican and North Indian. If you are looking for a snack or a starter, the Onion Rings with malt vinegar spritzer and cream aioli is excellent. They make their own Nachos, house-made corn chips topped with sour cream, olives, jalepenos, scallions, cheese and salsa. Barbecue Potato Skins come with similar toppings. Electric Corn with Chilli Aioli is another of their house specials. The Mushroom Three Ways (served with house special pickles and garlic bread) is one of their specialties. They have some hearty soups like Broccoli-and-Cheddar, Sweet Corn Chowder and Roasted Tomato with Basil.
Even the sandwiches and burgers are pretty big, robust enough to make a full meal. Their house special is The Henry IV Burger has omlet, veg patty, cucumber, tomatos, cheese and sauces, while those who do not eat eggs could order their Chickpea Burger which comes with a beetroot ketchup, tomato, cucumber and feta cheese. They have unusual pizzas, including the Barbecue (topped with mushrooms, caramelized onions, barbecue sauce and cheese) which has a rich smoky flavour.
The bistro-style restaurant specializes in single dishes that can make a one dish meal l like the Aubergine Parmagia, Fajita Platter and Mushroom Pot-Pie. The Four Cheese Penne is made exciting by the addition of blue cheese to traditional favourite combination of cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, which gives it a buttery texture with a slightly sharp flavour. If you prefer North Indian food, the Aloo Lucknowi is a substantial platter of roomali roti-like wraps filled with the rich potato vegetable dish served with sides. The Vegetable Tawa Masala with Garlic Pav, Chutney and Masala Peanut is a dish that seems to be inspired by popular Indian streetfood dishes like pav bhaji and dhabeli. They also have pretty good desserts like the Nutella Crème Brulee, Warm Apple Gallette (with ice-cream) and Brownies (with cream).
