A stone’s throw away from Jyothi Nivas College, Food Trip is one of those places where you would go for a good comforting meal at cheap prices, anytime of the day. Be warned though that it’s not a fine dine restaurant but has the potential to leave you happy.

Ambience
The 40-seater has a welcoming staff and looks like a cross between a fast food chain and a café. Washed in warm hues of green and blue with minimalist decor, Food Trip also has an upper level with a casual seating arrangement.

Food + Drinks
The food menu follows an interesting concept that lets you build your own meal. Divided by The Flavours (includes a variety of curries like Netaji’s Tandoori Paneer, Punjabi Lion Tikka and Bittersweet Bangkok dreams) and The Bases (Burgerwich, Rice and Roll) – we decided to order the combination of the Ninja Fried Chicken (crispy Teriyaki chicken strips) from the flavours with a base of rice (yellow rice). You could also try The Exotic One – French Fries with Caribbean Spices from the Fries with Benefits section along with a Classic Chocolate Shake before the main dish is served. All of these were part of our combo meal called Power Trip. You certainly can’t fault them for lack of innovative names.

Some other flavours that one can also sample are Empire State’s Spicy Chicken (wholesome fried chicken with Tabasco sauce) and El Rey’s Patatas (Mexican fajita veggies with potato croquettes). Or go for snacks from The Short Expeditions like the Chicken Poppers and Vegetas. From the Cheesed Up section, we suggest the breads with peri peri seasoning and nacho cheese sauce with toppings such as corn and bell pepper, onion, cilantro and chicken.
